Museum Education Project

The goal of this project was to educate the general public (any age) about art, art history, and/or art making. Students were encouraged to follow their own inquiry, allowing them to research into a topic they were interested in and curious about.

ASSIGNMENT

You will create an educational video that is inspired by a piece of art in the gallery, and includes an art project that students can make at home.

Here are some examples:

Blanton Museum of Art                  MET - weaving.                  Tate Modern                      Jackson's Art - media history

Your video must include:

  • inspiration artwork - information, and introduction to the artwork

  • If making art:

    • list of supplies

    • example of the final make at home piece

    • demo, step by step of how to make it,

    • closure: what do they do with their art? how can they share?

  • If art history or media related:

    • artist name, title of artwork

    • what is the history

    • why is it important, relevant, special

    • any additional information

  • credits: if you include pictures, images of the inspiration you need to give credit to where it is, who owns it, etc.

Please upload your video to the discussion group as soon as you can

and comment on 3 -

when you comment lets say 2 glows and 1 grow.  That means two positive comments/compliments and one thing that could be improved or something that was missing, a how you would have done it differently, or just something about the video that made you think. :) (trying to stay positive here).
