This high school class was unique, as the students had no previous art (since elementary).  The state of Arizona requires all graduates to complete one semester of art.  I volunteered, as the school did not have the budget to pay an art teacher.  I taught on Fridays for 2.5 hours.  While lesson plans look simplistic, much was discussed, practiced, and evaluated in class.  Additionally a final gallery for the school and parents to view the artwork the student selected to represent them.  Artwork was also posted in a blog, to promote additional discussion and share with parents.
